Flight is a miracle displayed by the gods of the Pantheon. Gods associated with the sky or with flying animals may be able to perform this miracle and levitate, hovering just above the ground or even fly through the sky.
Amaterasu could float above the ground[1] or fly if she wanted, carrying others with her.[1][2] When hovering above the ground or hanging mid-air, she is sometimes enveloped by a bright, flaming aura[1][3] and when flying, she becomes a beam of red light.[4][5][6] The Norns displayed the same miracle, leaving a black trail behind when flying[3] and being capable of levitation.[1]
Inanna teleported twice to the sky, and in both cases his descent to the ground was slowed down.[7][8] The Morrigan could also fly with giant, black wings of raven, sometimes with her arms replaced by wings[9] and sometimes with the wings sprouting from her back.[10] Later, when she died, the bodies of all her three aspects where left levitating inside her and Nergal's temple, deep within the Underground.[11] When escaping the private hospital where they all were being held hostage, the Norns flew away carrying Laura and the four heads with them with golden threads.
