I'm months late to this, so I hope you've figured it out already, but if you read Vol. 1-9 you get all of the comics in there too. The volumes (generally called trades) are just collected editions of the comics, so you won't miss any issues at all! Book 1 HC is the hard cover versions of the comics, just compiled differently than the trades. Book 1 HC the exact same thing as Vol. 1-2, Book 2 HC is Vol. 3-4, etc. etc.

Honestly, it's easier to just read the trades. If you really ended up loving the series and want to collect more things from it, then pick up the hard covers because they're absolutely gorgeous, but there's really no reason to buy them otherwise if you have the trades.
